Driver ID help....

can anyone ID these drivers based on the pics?

not famillar with these. they are earlier than my drivers...

Note the surrounds around the diapragm. Not aluminum. These appear to be 808-8A drivers circa early 1970's. these are called Symbiotik diapragms and are the least desirable. As they appear to be blown, they'll need replacing anyway.
I would recommend the Pascalite diapragms. some people feel the aluminum diapragms sound better, but they don't handle as much power.

I would recommend sending them to Great Plains if it is practical. they will fit new diapragms and recharge the magnets very cheaply. If not practical just give them this info and they will tell you which diapragms. I don't recall the part numbers offhand but if you need I can look them up. HTH.

I have a 808B that has a simmilar appearing diaphragm in it...

I'll let my friend know what driver it is (already pointed him the way of GPA)

Looks like there's one 806 or 807 (the thinner one), and one 802 or 808. While they use the same diaphragm, the smaller one is slightly less sensitive. Agree with Old Guys 'phram suggestions, he'll just need to know if he needs 8 or 16 ohms. Couldn't find the old part number to be of any help with that.

Finally found the part #. A 21545 is 8 ohms, and was original in both 807s and 808-8As.

Thanks- didn't notice that. the 807 and 808 did use the same diaphragm as you noted.
From Great Plains:

Symbiotik? diaphragms are no longer available. If high power handling is required, and excellent HF frequency response is also needed, use diaphragm #26420 (8 ohms).

Almost forgot- the newer diapragms require a kit because connections to the diaphragm have changed. Great Plains carries these also.
